KYPHOPLASTY WITHOUT CEMENT
The Sphereplast medical device is a revolutionary filling system consisting of a spherical-shaped trabecular structure, made using Ti6Al4V-ELI titanium alloy and EBM – Electron-Beam Melting technology.
This system has excellent osteoinductive properties and creates a compact agglomerate (inside the vertebrae) thanks to the “Velcro” effect generated between the trabeculae, guaranteeing stability to dynamic loads.
SPHEREPLAST is a filler system composed of cannulae preloaded with spheres that stabilizes and consolidates the vertebral body structure in the treatment of trauma and structural failure fractures after kyphoplasty procedures. The system consists of Ti6Al4V ELI titanium alloy spheres, produced with a 3D EBM (Electron Beam Melting) additive manufacturing technology, which are provided inside a preloaded AISI 316L steel cannula.
The surgical technique requires for the implantation of the device, the use of an instrumentation specifically designed for the purpose, including the following elements:
